New ETFs: Government bonds from different regions

HSBC gives investors access to government bonds from various developed and emerging markets, some with investment grade and currency hedging.
 

26 July 2023. FRANKFURT (Börse Frankfurt). Since Wednesday, four new exchange-traded funds issued by HSBC Asset Management have been tradable on Xetra and via Börse Frankfurt.

The HSBC Global Funds ICAV - Global Government Bond UCITS ETF tracks the performance of the FTSE World Government Bond Index. The benchmark index comprises a portfolio of fixed-income government bonds from developed and emerging markets that have an investment grade rating.

The HSBC Global Funds ICAV - Global Sustainable Government Bond UCITS ETF tracks the performance of the Bloomberg MSCI Global Treasury ESG Weighted Bond Index. This index also includes investment grade government bonds from developed and emerging markets. The bonds are additionally selected on the basis of the ESG Sovereign Score, which assesses the extent of a country's ESG risks.

Currency risks against the euro are minimised with both ETFs.

The HSBC Global Funds ICAV - China Government Local Bond UCITS ETF offers an investment in renminbi-denominated fixed-rate government and central bank bonds listed on the Chinese interbank bond market with a residual maturity of at least one year. Investors can choose between a currency-hedged and a non-currency-hedged share class.

The product offering in Deutsche Börse's XTF segment currently comprises a total of 2,057 ETFs. With this selection and an average monthly trading volume of around €16 billion, Xetra is the leading trading venue for ETFs in Europe.
